Switching from Clockify
- Export from Clockify. Download a detailed time report as CSV.
- Open Import in Honest Day. Sign in, go to Import and choose Other tracker (CSV).
- Match the columns. Honest Day recognises common names such as Date, Project, Client, Description and Duration, and shows what it matched. Nothing is created until you confirm.
- Preview, then import. Missing clients, projects and tasks are created for you. Running it twice will not duplicate entries.
Time entries come across with the clients, projects and tasks they refer to. Past invoices stay in Clockify, so export them before you cancel. If anything looks off, email hello@honestday.app.
Where Honest Day is behind
Weigh these before you switch:
- No native iPhone, Android or desktop apps. Honest Day is a web app you can add to your home screen.
- No QuickBooks or Xero sync. Invoices export as CSV files you import into QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- No SAML single sign-on. People sign in with passkeys or an email link.
- Contractor pay statements show what each person is owed from their hours. Honest Day does not send the payment.
- Entries are written by people (or by the assistant when asked). Honest Day does not track in the background.
Questions
Is Honest Day cheaper than Clockify?
Not always. Clockify starts with a free plan. For a team of 10 on paid plans, Clockify Standard is $69.90 a month billed monthly ($54.90 a month billed yearly) and Pro is $99.90 ($79.90 yearly), at list prices checked October 2026. For ten people Honest Day Premium is $9 a month at launch, then $19; each extra 10 people add $10. The gap grows with team size, because Clockify charges per seat.
Can I import my Clockify data?
Yes, through the generic CSV importer. Export a detailed time report from Clockify as CSV, open Import in Honest Day and choose Other tracker (CSV). You match the columns on a mapping screen, see a preview, and nothing is created until you confirm. Past invoices stay in Clockify.
What will I miss if I leave Clockify?
A long-established free plan, a QuickBooks sync, a choice of data region, and the fact that Clockify is used by a very large number of teams. Honest Day has no native mobile apps, no QuickBooks or Xero sync and no SAML sign-in.
Does Honest Day track activity like some Clockify plans can?
No. Honest Day has no screenshots, keystroke logging, app or website tracking, or activity scores. Hours are what people say they worked, with notes.
