Honest Day vs Harvest
Looking for a Harvest alternative? Here is where the two differ, where Harvest is ahead, and what moving over involves.
No credit card needed. No screenshots, ever.
The short version
Harvest is a mature time tracker with invoicing and expenses built in. Honest Day covers the same ground and goes one step further: it turns each contractor's hours into a pay statement, it has an AI assistant that answers questions and logs time, and it charges one flat price per workspace instead of per seat.
If you rely on Harvest's native mobile apps, its QuickBooks or Xero sync or SAML single sign-on, those matter, and Honest Day doesn't have them.
Who each is best for
Harvest
Teams that want a long-established tool with native iPhone and Android apps, and accounting sync to QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- Its free plan covers one person and two projects, which suits a solo freelancer.
- Approvals and profitability reporting are available on its Enterprise plan.
Honest Day
Small businesses and agencies that work with contractors, and want tracking, approvals, client invoices and contractor pay in one place.
- One flat price per workspace, with unlimited seats and no usage fees.
- No monitoring of any kind, so contractors can use it without feeling watched.

What a team of 10 pays
Honest Day Premium is $9 per workspace per month, or $90 per year (two months free), for the first 1,000 workspaces. After that it is $19 a month or $190 a year, with unlimited seats and no usage fees. Your price stays the same for as long as your subscription stays active, and a team of 10 pays the same $90 a year as a team of 2. Per-seat tools scale with your headcount.

List prices with monthly billing, as shown on Harvest's pricing page in October 2026. Harvest bills less on annual plans. Prices change, so check theirs before you decide. Even at $19 flat, or $190 a year, Honest Day is far under per-seat totals.
Switching from Harvest
Switch in minutes. Import from Harvest, Toggl or any time CSV: people, clients, projects, tasks and every hour. Any other tracker's CSV works too.
- Export from Harvest. Download your time as a CSV from Harvest's reports.
- Open Import in Honest Day. Sign in, go to Import, and choose Harvest. If you'd rather start from a different tracker's CSV, choose Other tracker (CSV).
- Preview it. You see what will be created, and you choose whether to bring rates across and whether to skip time you have already invoiced.
- Import. Missing clients, projects, tasks and people are created for you. People added this way are not emailed, and running it again won't duplicate anything.
The importer brings time entries, with the clients, projects, tasks and people they refer to. Past invoices stay in Harvest, so export them before you cancel. If anything looks off, email hello@honestday.app and we'll help.
Where Honest Day is different
Harvest tracks, bills and reports well. Where Honest Day goes further is everything around the invoice: a statement for each contractor from the same hours, a weekly card people can share, a client portal, and an assistant that can actually log time and start timers.
It also costs less to grow. Adding a contractor or a client doesn't change the price, because the price is per workspace.
Questions
Is Honest Day cheaper than Harvest?
For a team of 10 on list prices with monthly billing, Harvest Teams comes to $110 a month plus usage charges, and Honest Day Premium is $9 a month at launch (then $19) for the whole workspace, or $90 a year (then $190) in total for the whole team. Harvest bills less on annual plans. Prices change, so check theirs.
Can I import my history from Harvest?
Yes. Switch in minutes. Export your time as a CSV from Harvest and import it from the Import page in Honest Day, which also reads Toggl and any other tracker's CSV. You get a preview first, and nobody is emailed.
What will I miss if I leave Harvest?
Native iPhone and Android apps, QuickBooks Online and Xero sync, and SAML single sign-on. Honest Day is a web app you can add to your home screen, exports invoices as CSV, and signs people in with passkeys or an email link.
