Per-seat pricing vs team-size pricing for time tracking
Per-seat tools charge for every person on the team, and Harvest also charges by usage. Team-size pricing charges in blocks, so adding one person inside a block costs nothing. Honest Day Premium is $9 a month at launch for up to 10 people ($19 after), then $10 per extra 10. At 25 people that is $39 a month after the launch, against $275 for Harvest Teams seats at monthly list price.

The three pricing models
- Per seat. Price multiplied by people. Toggl Track and Clockify list prices this way, and Clockify says every active or invited user takes a paid seat.
- Per seat plus usage. Harvest lists a per-seat price and bills extra invoices, projects, clients and tasks by usage above an allowance (see Harvest pricing in 2026).
- By team size. A block of 10 people for one price, with each extra block adding a fixed amount, up to 100 people. Honest Day Premium works this way, with no usage fees.

When per-seat is the better deal
- One person or a very small team: Harvest's Free plan covers one seat and two projects, and Honest Day's free plan covers up to 5 members, so neither costs anything.
- A small team on a vendor's free tier, if the free tier covers what you need.
- A team that stays just over a block boundary, for example 11 people: block pricing charges for a second block of 10.
When team-size pricing is the better deal
- Teams with several freelancers or contractors who log hours but come and go: on a per-seat plan each takes a seat.
- Teams that grow in steps. Inside a block, adding a person does not change the bill.
- Teams that cannot forecast usage: with no usage fees, the bill depends only on team size.
What block pricing does not fix
It steps up: the 11th person moves you into a second block, even if they work one day a month. And a lower price does not help if a tool is missing something you need. Where Honest Day is behind:
- No native iPhone, Android or desktop apps. Honest Day is a web app you can add to your home screen.
- No QuickBooks or Xero sync. Invoices export as CSV files you import into QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- No SAML single sign-on. People sign in with passkeys or an email link.
- Contractor pay statements show what each person is owed from their hours. Honest Day does not send the payment.
- Entries are written by people (or by the assistant when asked). Honest Day does not track in the background.
Questions
What does team-size pricing mean?
Premium is priced in blocks of 10 people. Premium is $9 a month for up to 10 people at launch ($19 after the first 1,000 workspaces), plus $10 a month for each extra 10 people up to 100. Above 100, talk to us.
Does the price change?
The launch price for the first block is $9 a month ($90 a year) for the first 1,000 workspaces and stays the same for as long as your subscription stays active. After that the first block is $19 a month ($190 a year). Extra blocks are $10 a month ($100 a year). See pricing.
Do contractors count toward team size?
Team size is the number of members in the workspace, so contractors who have a seat count. Per-seat plans count them too: Clockify, for example, says every active or invited user takes a paid seat.
Is there a free option?
Yes. Honest Day's free plan covers up to 5 members with unlimited projects, clients, entries and invoices. Approvals, profitability reports and some other features are Premium.
What happens above 100 people?
