About Honest Day
Honest Day is a web app for time tracking, timesheet approvals, client invoicing and contractor pay statements. Premium is priced by team size, not per person, and Honest Day never takes screenshots, logs keystrokes or scores activity.

Who is behind it
Honest Day is made by Ankur Shrestha, who runs contractor-heavy businesses of his own and built the tool for that way of working: hours are what people say they worked, with notes, and a contractor's hours turn into a pay statement without a second spreadsheet.
What it does
- Time tracking with a timer, day view, week grid and calendar, and plain-language entry: write "bb email 45m yesterday" and it picks the client, project, time and date.
- Timesheet approvals, expenses with receipts, and invoices built from uninvoiced time.
- Profitability reports, budgets with alerts, and contractor pay statements from each person's hours at their cost rate.
- A REST API, webhooks, Slack notifications and an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.
- Import from Harvest, Toggl or any time CSV.
What it does not do
Honest Day does not take screenshots, log keystrokes, monitor apps or websites, or score activity. And it has gaps:
- No native iPhone, Android or desktop apps. Honest Day is a web app you can add to your home screen.
- No QuickBooks or Xero sync. Invoices export as CSV files you import into QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- No SAML single sign-on. People sign in with passkeys or an email link.
- Contractor pay statements show what each person is owed from their hours. Honest Day does not send the payment.
- Entries are written by people (or by the assistant when asked). Honest Day does not track in the background.
A note on the name
Honest Day at honestday.app is unrelated to honestday.ai, an AI check-in product. If you are comparing tools, the domain is the way to tell them apart.

No. Honest Day at honestday.app is a time tracker. It is unrelated to honestday.ai, an AI check-in product.
Where is my data?
On Cloudflare. The app, its database and its file storage for receipts and logos all run there. People sign in with passkeys or an email link, so there are no passwords to leak. You can export your time as CSV whenever you like. The details are on the privacy page.
