From contractor hours to a pay statement

Contractors log their hours in the same place as your team. A statement per person and period shows what they are owed at their cost rate, with a link they can open and a paid status you set. Honest Day does not send the payment. Contractor statements are on the free plan.

How it works

  1. Add the contractor. Add them as a person with a cost rate: what you pay them per hour.
  2. They log time. Timer, week grid or plain-language entry. Their hours sit next to the client's invoice.
  3. Create the statement. Pick the person and period. The statement lists their hours at their cost rate.
  4. Approve and share. Approve it, then share the link so the contractor can see what they are owed.
  5. Mark it paid. When you have paid them, in your bank or payment app, mark the statement paid. Honest Day keeps the record.

What it does not do

  • It does not send money or run payroll. You pay the contractor yourself.
  • It does not file taxes or produce tax forms.

Why it matters

When contractor hours and client billing live in different tools, the two never quite agree. Here they come from the same entries, so what you invoice a client and what you owe a contractor are the same hours.

Price

Statements are on the free plan (up to 5 members). The statement page and email carry a small "Sent with Honest Day" line you can switch off. Premium is $9 a month at launch for up to 10 people ($19 after), then $10 per extra 10. Contractors count toward team size, but adding one inside a block of 10 people does not change the price.

Questions

Does Honest Day pay my contractors?

No. It shows what each person is owed and records when you have paid. The payment itself happens outside Honest Day.

Which rate is used?

The person's cost rate. Billing rates are used for what the client is charged.

What does the contractor see?

The statement at the link you share: their hours and what they are owed for the period.

Is this on the free plan?
