From hours to money
- Track. Timer, week grid, calendar or plain-language entry. Add expenses with a receipt photo.
- Review what is uninvoiced. The invoicing report shows uninvoiced time by client, so unbilled hours do not disappear.
- Build the invoice. Pull in uninvoiced time and billable expenses by project, task, person or every entry. Add fixed-fee lines, taxes and a discount, and edit the document before you send it.
- Send it. Email it with a client link that shows when it was viewed, or print it to PDF.
- Get paid. Clients pay by card through your own Stripe account (Premium). Payments are recorded against the invoice, and overdue reminders go out for you.

Free and Premium
The free plan covers up to 5 members with unlimited invoices. Premium adds card payments, the client portal, estimates, recurring invoices, retainers, reminders and branding, priced by team size: $9 a month at launch for up to 10 people ($19 after), then $10 per extra 10. See pricing.
Accounting
Invoices export as CSV files in the layouts QuickBooks Online and Xero import, plus a plain spreadsheet CSV. There is no live QuickBooks or Xero sync.
What it does not do
- No QuickBooks or Xero sync.
- No native mobile apps; Honest Day is a web app you can add to your home screen.
- Contractor pay statements show what each person is owed. Honest Day does not send the payment.
Questions
Can I invoice on the free plan?
Yes. The free plan includes unlimited invoices. The web page and email for an invoice carry a small "Sent with Honest Day" line that you can switch off in Settings, and PDFs never carry it. Premium adds your logo and brand color.
How do clients pay?
You send an invoice by email with a link. Clients can open it, check everything they owe in a client portal, and pay by card when you have connected your own Stripe account. Card payments and the client portal are part of Premium.
Does it sync with QuickBooks or Xero?
No. Invoices export as CSV files in the layouts QuickBooks Online and Xero import. There is no live sync.
Can I invoice retainers and repeat work?
Yes, on Premium: recurring invoices, and retainers where a deposit invoice credits the client's balance when it is paid, so you can apply the balance to later invoices.
Can different people have different rates?
Yes. Hourly projects can use a rate by project, task or person. There are also fixed-fee and non-billable projects, and you can reprice uninvoiced time.
