Project budgets that warn you early

Set a budget on a project in hours or in fees, optionally resetting every month, with an alert percentage. The Budgets report shows how fast hours and fees are burning and flags projects at 80% and 100%. Budgets are on every plan.

Setting a budget

  1. Choose the kind. A budget in hours, or in fees.
  2. Set the amount, and the reset. A one-off total for the project, or a monthly budget that resets each month, which suits retainers.
  3. Set the alert. The percentage at which you want to be told, so you hear about an overrun before it happens.

The Budgets report

The Budgets report lists projects with hours and fees burn and flags them at 80% and 100%. Dashboards can show budget burn alongside utilization, so the people who run projects see it where they already look.

When the numbers need correcting

If a project's rate was wrong, you can reprice the uninvoiced time on it. Time that has already been invoiced does not change.

Plan

Budgets and the Budgets report are on the free plan (up to 5 members). Profitability reports, which add cost and margin, are Premium: $9 a month at launch for up to 10 people ($19 after), then $10 per extra 10.
